Award for Distinguished Service
Presented to Professor B.K. ANAND
In appreciation and recognition of outstanding service as Professor
Physiology, Dean of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi,
India, and for invaluable contribution as Faculty Advisor and inspirer for the
Student Body while at the Institute
"Let me first of all thank you and all other AIIMSONIANS of America for the
courtesies and affectionate sentiments which received from everyone. The four
days spent by me with all of you at Ypsilanti will be remembered by me as a
memorable experience, reminiscent of our teacher-pupil relationship of earlier
periods of Institute's formation. The distinguished service awarded which I
received from you will always be treasured by me. The most coveted award for a
teacher is when he finds that his students still remember him, even when they
have themselves achieved a level of success better than him".
-B.K. Anand
In appreciation and recognition of outstanding service as Professor
of Anatomy & History of Medicine, Dean and Director of All India Institute
of medical Sciences, New Delhi, India and for invaluable contribution as Faculty
Advisor and inspirer for the Student Body while at the institute from August 9,
1956 through November 1, 1977.
I would like to convey my thanks and deep sense of gratitude to you all the
AIIMSONIANS OF AMERICA for the love and regard you all had for me for whatever
little contributions I have made in all my life, to the academic excellence of
the AIIMS and to the welfare of the staff and students.
I was surprised, then delighted and elated by your recognition of my services
to the AIIMS at your Eleventh Annual Convention of the AOA at Ypsilanti, MI on
August 14, 1993. I have, along with my wife, loved you all like we have loved
our own children; and in return, you have bestowed, in plenty, your love,
affection and respect on both of us. We are proud of you and your spouses and
children, above all your achievements in foreign environs. Nothing delights a
devoted teacher more than seeing and feeling that the students have outshined
the teacher in many a field-academic or extracurricular.
May you all prosper more and more in your health, wisdom and wealth"!
- Nand Keswani
